About Totally Cape Town
An independent, growing guide to Cape Town — built like a guidebook, not a blog.
What this is
Totally Cape Town is an independent travel guide covering the city and surrounding region — neighbourhoods, things to do, day trips and practical planning — organised by department rather than published as a stream of blog posts. We started with a deliberately small set of core guides and are adding to them at least weekly.
How we approach content
Each guide aims to answer the question a real traveller is actually asking, with practical, honest detail rather than padded, generic advice. We don't accept paid placement in our guides or hotel directory. Where something changes seasonally or year to year — opening hours, prices, operating status — we point you to check the current, authoritative source rather than guess.
Where we're headed
The goal is a genuinely comprehensive Cape Town resource: every neighbourhood, every beach, a full hotel directory, and the whole site translated into 16 languages over time. You can follow progress on our news page.
